Newer Browser Compatibility Hack?

Since Backbase decided to stop supporting or updating version 3, it is woefully unable to distinguish more recent browsers.

Firefox 3 it recognizes, but does not distinguish from Firefox 2 (and there *are* some differences in the way code is rendered between the two browsers).

Google today released Chrome, which at first blush seems to be the fastest browser around, but Backbase *completely* chokes on this and will not load at all. THIS IS VERY BAD!!

Upgrading to version 4 is not possible right now. Has anyone been able to create a HACK to get Backbase to recognize other browsers (specifically Google Chrome) and/or to distinguish more recent browsers (like Firefox 3)?

Me too

I have some significant effort into backbase v3 and can't afford to re-engineer for v4 (At training they claimed that they would provide a transition path to any new versions. Where's that?)

I fear that Chrome is going to become wildly popular and I'm going to be stuck with a webapp that doesn't support it.
