How does this forum works

I wonder how this Q and A forum works because i see some 'n/a' questions including mine.

Do you need to have a certain amount of 'points' or must your questions be interesting engouh before they desirve an answer.

I am starting to develop software based on Backbase and do not post any questions for
which i didn't spend a couple of hours trying to figure it out myself.

If there are any of this kind of restrictions/requirements especially from the side
of the Backbase experts please inform me because then i know what to expect when
i ask a question on this forum.

Hi, We try to answer every

Hi,

We try to answer every post, although this is sometimes difficult because of the way questions are asked, we maybe should create a better FAQ and policy about when and how a question. E.g.

  • Search the forum for your question, maybe it's already asked
  • Make sure you attach a reproducable simple testcase, if your ask a question about code

Make sure that your test case runs, without any problems and no strange files are required, e.g. certain test contains a lot of loads and includes of files which are not always posted with the question, trying to run those tests locally will then never work.

Who wants to continue?

That makes sense

Thanks for the answer.

For my next questions (yes there will be more) i will create small runnable testcases unless it's a generic question.

Your time is valuable.

Kind regards.

forum question

Hi Joop,

This forum is a place for Backbase users to ask technical questions, express user opinion / suggestion for Backbase product, and spread relevant information /share knowledge. There is no particular restriction about the question that can be posted as long as it's revelant to Backbase product.

I agree with you that most of the posts are left unanswered on some categories, this is not due to neglect by our team but due to the fact we are also responding to commercial support customers currently undergoing major Backbase projects, with strict response targets, Here are the 3 levels of support,

1. Free Support
2. Standard Support
3. Premium Support

The later two categories are served via a different communication medium.

You can get more information about our support plans via this link below.

http://www.backbase.com/services/support/

The forum comes under the free support category though relatively “silent” at present we are doing our utmost best to catch up and respond to all posts.

Regards,

Backbase Support Team

Understood

Hello Yudi,

Point taken and understood.

But it is kind of frustrating or more a dissapointment for a small company which is
starting to explore the possibilities of Backbase in there product without investing
on forehand (thats why there is a community version) to see that there acctually isn't
a lifely developpers community.
In fact most of the answers come from Backbase employees.

I wonder why there aren't al bunch of starting developers active on this forum,
is it the complexity of the product or the lack of interest from other than big companies
who are able to 'first buy it, than ask questions'.

But i will do my best and ask as littlke as possible questions. (wink)

Regards,

Joop.

Well, this forum only

Well, this forum only started 4 months ago, but slowly we are getting more and more people from the community also answering questions! We really care about the community and i think it's going the right way :)

Final remark

I just want to say that i think that Backbase is an amazing product and in the two weeks i am using it (and just scatched the surface) i was able to create a couple of applications which would take me much longer using my own AJAX framework.
It is also a plesure to work in such a stable environment.

Both thumbs up.
